Sri Lanka Navy Apprehends 12 Indian Fishermen for Trespassing in Sea of Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended 12 Indian fishermen in the Point Pedro Sea, for trespassing into the Sea of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Navy Spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya said, one vessel belonging to these Indian fishermen, was also seized.
According to Sri Lanka Navy, a total of 497 Indian fishermen have been apprehended so far this year.
Sri Lanka Navy further confirmed that 66 vessels have also been seized during this period.
