Election Commission to Allocate Airtime for 2024 Parliamentary Elections

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission has announced that it will be drawing lots to allocate airtime for political broadcasts for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections.

Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake stated that every recognized political party or independent group that has submitted a valid nomination paper will be provided with airtime for their broadcasts.

The lot drawing process will take place tomorrow at the Colombo District Secretariat.

Saman Sri Ratnayake emphasized that only the secretaries of recognized political parties or their duly authorized representatives, as well as the leaders of independent groups or their duly authorized representatives, who have submitted valid nomination papers for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, will be eligible to participate in this process.
