Red Alert: Sri Lanka Braces for Torrential Downpours Over 200mm

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Meteorology Department has issued a Red Warning for heavy rain in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara Districts.

According to the weather bulletin, showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-Western provinces. 

The bulletin further indicates that very heavy showers, exceeding 200mm, are likely in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the heavy rainfall and potential flooding.
