COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has announced that the Criminal Investigation Department's probe into the alleged leak of several questions in the Grade 5 scholarship examination are incomplete.
The Commission has urged the CID to expedite its investigations into this matter.
The CID has also agreed to record statements from the parents who had filed complaints.
The Human Rights Commission has also advised examination officials to refrain from making any decisions regarding the scholarship examination papers until the CID report is finalized.
On the 15th of October, nearly 324,000 students faced the grade 5 scholarship examination.
However, the examination had sparked significant controversy after it was revealed that several questions in the paper had been leaked, leading to a temporary suspension of the evaluation of the answer sheets until the investigation concludes.
