Sri Lanka To Set Up Food Security Act and Authority

COLOMBO (News 1st); Attention has been directed towards establishing a Food Security Act and a dedicated authority for this purpose.

These details emerged during a discussion held yesterday, chaired by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.

The meeting included officials from the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security Cooperatives, and Enterprise Development.

During the discussion, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a collective and systematic approach to maximize the opportunities available for economic development.

She also highlighted the importance of effective coordination among the institutions under the Ministry.
