Two Killed in Elephant Attacks in Anuradhapura

COLOMBO (News 1st): A Navy officer was fatally attacked by a wild elephant near the Punewa Naval Base in Medawachchiya.
The victim, a 41 year old Lieutenant Commander attached to the Punewa Naval Base, was a resident of Nittambuwa.
In a separate incident, a 69-year-old woman succumbed to injuries following a wild elephant attack in Mahasengama, Galenbindunuwewa.
She died after being admitted to the Anuradhapura hospital.
