Seven-Year-Old Succumbs to Venom After Bite on Errand

COLOMBO (News1st); A 7-year-old boy from Medipokuna in the Uva-Parangama area tragically died after being bitten by a snake on Tuesday.

According to a News 1st correspondent, the incident occurred while the child was delivering a food parcel to a neighbor following an alms giving ceremony at his residence. 

Despite being rushed to the Welimada Base Hospital, the boy succumbed to complications from the snakebite.

Identified as a student of the Maha Kumburu Vidyalaya in Badulla, the young boy's sudden death has cast a shadow over the local community.
