COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Inland Revenue announced that all income tax payments for the 2023/2024 assessment year must be completed by Monday, 30th September.
Commissioner General of Inland Revenue, Sepalika Chandrasekara, said that individuals who fail to pay or delay their income tax payments will face legal penalties and interest payments.
She further emphasized that any outstanding tax dues for any type of tax must be settled on or before 30th September.
Chandrasekara warned that if any taxes remain unpaid after Monday, the department will initiate legal actions as outlined in the Inland Revenue Act, to collect those dues.
