COLOMBO (News 1st); The Human Rights Commission has requested the Department of Examinations to submit a report by next Friday regarding the incident of the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam's first question paper being leaked prior to the examination.
This request was made during a meeting held yesterday with officials from the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations.
The Commission emphasized the need to address several concerns related to the leaked question paper.
The Human Rights Commission highlighted that the discussion focused on two main issues: the violation of children's human rights due to the leak and the impact on students caused by the need to retake the exam.
In response to the incident, numerous complaints have been filed by parents of affected children with the Human Rights Commission.
Additionally, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who oversees the subject, has instructed education authorities to conduct an immediate independent investigation and provide a report on the matter.
