Special Security for Final Presidential Rallies

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police announced that special security arrangements will be in place for the final rallies of the presidential candidates. 

This measure aims to ensure the safety of both the candidates and the public attending these events.

Police Spokesperson DIG & Attorney-at-Law Nihal Talduwa confirmed that the decision was made to enhance security during the crucial final phase of the presidential campaign.

In addition to the heightened security, a comprehensive traffic management program has been implemented around the political rally venues. 

In the final push before the silent period, presidential candidates have organized their last public rallies across the island.

Independent presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe will address supporters in Matara, Galle, Homagama, and Kalutara, with his final rally scheduled at Grandpass.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya's candidate, Sajith Premadasa, will hold rallies in Monaragala, Embilipitiya, Ambalantota, and Beruwala, concluding with a final rally in Maradana.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the candidate for the National People's Power, will focus his rallies on the Western Province, with events in Kalutara and Gampaha, and his final rally at the Ananda Samarakoon Open Air Theater in Nugegoda.

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna's candidate, Namal Rajapaksa, will hold rallies in Tissamaharama and Matugama, ending with a final event in Piliyandala.

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka will address supporters in Pannala and Negombo, with his last rally planned for Kirulapona.

The Election Commission urges all candidates and their supporters to adhere to the regulations and ensure a peaceful and fair election process.
