COLOMBO (News 1st); Independent presidential candidate Ranil Wickramasinghe has called on the people of Sri Lanka to make a decisive choice to protect the economic stability of the country on the 21st of this month.

Speaking in the east of the country, Wickramasinghe highlighted his efforts to support the nation during times of crisis.

"I gave food when you had no food. I brought medicine when you didn't have medicine. I brought diesel when you didn't have diesel. I brought gas when you didn't have gas. I brought kerosene when you did not have kerosene," he stated, emphasizing his commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the people.

Wickramasinghe expressed his sorrow over the suffering of the citizens and the collapsing economy. He pointed out the recent reduction in fertilizer prices and the elimination of farmers' loans as measures taken to support the agricultural sector.

He questioned his opponents, Sajith Premadasa and Anura Dissanayake, on their contributions to the farmers and the economy.

"I accepted this and went to the IMF. I spoke to the leaders I know in the world. Even though it was difficult, I worked hard and made unpopular decisions," he said, underscoring his efforts to stabilize the economy.

Wickramasinghe urged the citizens to consider their future and make a decisive choice on September 21st.
