Schools to Close for Election Preparations

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education has received a formal letter from the Election Commission regarding the closure of schools to facilitate the upcoming election. 

The Election Commission has announced that the preparation of counting centers will commence after the Grade 5 scholarship examination.

In the letter, the Commission specified that schools designated as polling centers are scheduled to be prepared on the 19th and 20th of this month. 

The Ministry of Education had previously indicated that it would consider the Election Commission's requests and take necessary steps to grant holidays to the affected schools.
