04 Dead in Road Accidents Over 24 Hours

COLOMBO(News 1st): Over the past 24 hours, 04 people have died in road accidents in several parts across Sri Lanka.

Police said that the accidents were reported from Pothuhera, Kuda Oya, Wariyapola and Mundalama police division.

A 30-year-old man died when a car collided with a motorcycle in Kandurukumbura along the Colombo-Kurunegala road.

A 52-year-old man died in an accident in Thelulla along the Thanamalvila - Wellawaya road when the motorcycle he was travelling on, collided with a lorry.

A person who was traveling on the foot board of an SLTB bus died after a collision between the bus and a private bus in the Bambaragammana section along the Wariyapola - Puttalam road.

Another person travelling on the foot board was injured.

A 39-year-old pedestrian died in Battuluoya along the Chilaw-Puttalam road when a car hit him.
The driver of the car fled the scene and an Investigation into the driver and the car has been launched.
