Foreign Minister Apologizes for Passport Issue

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Ali Sabry has issued an apology on behalf of the government for the ongoing passport issue that has caused significant inconvenience to the public. 

Addressing the matter, the minister assured that steps are being taken to resolve the situation promptly.

Minister Sabry revealed that a new electronic passport system is in the works and will be implemented as soon as possible to streamline the process and prevent future shortages.

He also announced that the new batch of passports is expected to arrive by October 16, which should alleviate the current backlog.
