Ex-ASP Sanjeeva Mahanama Granted Bail in MP Shooting Case

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former Assistant Superintendent of Police Sanjeeva Mahanama, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been granted bail.

Mahanama appeared before the Anuradhapura Magistrate's Court earlier today.

He faces allegations of aiding and abetting in the shooting incident involving former MP Uddika Premarathna.

The shooting occurred on September 17, 2023, when MP Uddika Premarathna's vehicle was targeted in front of his residence on Airport Road in Anuradhapura.
