Fonseka Vows to Tackle Corruption and Economic Hardships

COLOMBO (News 1st); Independent presidential candidate Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has made a passionate appeal to the Sri Lankan people, addressing the severe economic hardships and corruption plaguing the nation.

At a campaign rally Fonseka highlighted the struggles faced by ordinary citizens, who are unable to afford basic necessities such as three meals a day, petrol, and electricity.

Fonseka expressed his deep concern for the country's future, noting that building a house has become a distant dream for many.

However, he assured the public that solutions are within reach.

Drawing on his military background, Fonseka reminded the audience of his past achievements. "I had faith that I would finish the war in three years, and I finished it in two years and months," he recalled.

Fonseka identified the root cause of the nation's problems as the corrupt political culture.
