COLOMBO (News 1st); The Government Printer had revealed the imperative need for 65 police officers on a daily basis to safeguard the operations related to the printing of presidential election materials.
Ganga Kalpani Liyanage, the Government Printer, underscored the essential nature of police protection following the submission of nominations, particularly during the critical phase of dispatching the ballot papers for printing.
According to the Government Printer, the Election Commission is set to liaise with the police to coordinate and implement the requisite security measures.
Previously, Sri Lanka Police pledged to facilitate adequate security arrangements for the printing works of the presidential election in response to a direct request made by the Government Printer.
