Bus Fares Reduced by 5.07%: New Rates Announced

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced a reduction in bus fares by 5.07 percent, effective from midnight today (1).

Shashi Welgama, Chairman of the NTC, made this announcement during a press conference held earlier today.

Under the revised fare structure, the minimum bus fare will now be Rs. 28.

This adjustment comes in accordance with a 2002 cabinet paper, which stipulates periodic revisions of bus fares in collaboration with private bus associations.
