COLOMBO (News 1st); Another fisherman who was critically ill after consuming an unknown liquid in adrift the sea has died.
In the trawler were six fishermen out of which five fishermen have now died after consuming the unknown liquid from a bottle adrift at sea.
Two fishermen who were critically ill on the multi-day fishing trawler “Devon 5” were rescued by a Singaporean vessel earlier in the day.
Navy Spokesperson Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya said that the fisherfolk will be brought back ashore by a Singaporean vessel, for medical attention.
The multi-day fishing trawler “Devon 5” set sail from the Tangalle harbour on June 4.
