Sri Lankan Navy Intercepts Vessel with 200kg of Heroin, Six Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); Six suspects have been apprehended with 200 kilograms of drugs believed to be heroin.

The arrest occurred during a Navy operation on the high seas off Sri Lanka's western coast.

Additionally, the Navy seized the multi-day vessel which was used for drug transportation.

Captain Gayan Wickramasuriya, the Navy’s spokesman, confirmed that both the drug stockpile and the six suspected smugglers are currently being brought ashore.
