COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that several new projects, including housing initiatives for the homeless in Batticaloa district, are planned to commence in the next few years to enhance the livelihood of the residents.
Meanwhile, the President announced that the government has increased the allowance for pre-school teachers by LKR 2,500, which will take effect this week.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe made these remarks during a meeting held yesterday (23) with school leavers and unemployed youth in the Chenkaladi area, Batticaloa.
A significant number of youths from the locality attended the meeting, and the President responded positively to their inquiries.
