Suspect who shot and stole from a woman in Kattankudy arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect who shot a woman and robbed her money and jewellery has been arrested in Ahmedlane, Kattankudy.

Police says an unknown individual came to the woman's house and shot her, i and stole her gold belongings and 2 million rupees fled the scene.

The 32-year-old woman who was injured in the incident has been admitted to Batticaloa Hospital.

The 43-year-old suspect is to be produced before court.
