MEPA To Take Action Over PetroChina Fuel Leak

Colombo (News 1st): Sri Lanka's Marine Environment Protection Authority or MEPA says it will institute legal action over the fuel leak that was reported while unloading fuel from a vessel that reached the Colombo Harbour, last week.

A shipment of PetroChina diesel from Singapore to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation had thus leaked on the 30th of May, upon reaching Colombo.

MEPA said an official complaint over the matter was filed with the Harbour Police.
