AKD Pursues Rs. 500 Mn from Johnston

COLOMBO (News 1st); Colombo Chief District Judge Sandun Withana has issued an order for the continuation of the evidence hearing in a petition filed by Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People's Power.

The petition seeks compensation of 500 million rupees from Member of Parliament Johnston Fernando.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake alleges that a statement made by Johnston Fernando during a meeting held at the Tangalle Municipal Council Hall on October 15, 2017, caused damage to Dissanayake's reputation.

Dissanayake's petition specifically seeks a compensation amount of 500 million rupees from Johnston Fernando.
