Sri Lanka Shocked By French Ambassador's Passing

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended its condolences on the passing of Ambassador Jean-François Pactet, who served as the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The Ministry says that all assistance will be extended to the French authorities and the family of the late Ambassador and that the ministry is in close coordination with the French Embassy in Sri Lanka at this time of grief.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the funeral arrangements will be notified by the authorities in due course.

The Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Jean-François Pactet passed away yesterday, at the age of 53, in his official residence in Rajagiriya.

Jean-François Pactet was a career diplomat with a wealth of international experience.
