COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Dengue Control Unit says that 71 high risk dengue zones have been reported so far.
Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that the number of dengue cases may increase with the prevailing showery conditions.
He said that in relation to this, a special anti-mosquito program will be implemented in 15 districts until June 1st.
Meanwhile, President's Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake recently advised the Ministry of Education, for a special program to be implemented to educate school children and parents regarding the situation.
He urged authorities to prioritize measures to prevent the spread of dengue in high-risk areas like government buildings, religious sites, and new settlements.
