Sri Lanka President to Address Global Leaders at 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe will attend the 10th World Water Forum High-Level Meeting in Indonesia, from 18 - 20 May at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

President Wickremesinghe will deliver a statement at the High-Level forum on May 20 themed "Water for Shared Prosperity", & engage in several bilateral meetings, including with President Widodo, said the President's Media Division.

According to Indonesia Media, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is confirmed to be present at the opening of the world's largest water forum meeting in Nusa Dua, Bali.

As a commitment to addressing water and sanitation issues, Indonesia at the 10th World Water Forum will also realize cooperation with the government of the United Arab Emirates though groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of International Mangrove Research Center (IMRC) on Kura Kura Island, reports said.

Luhut also revealed that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Elon Musk, who will also present at the World Water Forum, will inaugurate the Starlink satellite-based internet service on Sunday (19 May).

Indonesia is the third country in Asia after Japan and South Korea to host the 10th World Water Forum.

This water forum will present three main processes, namely thematic, regional, and political processes, as well as six sub-themes, which are in line with the results of discussions at the World Water Conference in New York in 2023.
