COLOMBO (News 1st): Two associates of the notorious drug lord 'Harak Kata' have been arrested with a drug haul worth over Rs. 280 million.
The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the military intelligence unit.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with officers from the Police Special Task Force in the Piliyandala area.
The suspects are believed to be key operatives in the drug network run by 'Harak Kata' and his close associate 'Army Chuti,' both of whom are known for their large-scale drug trafficking and organized crime activities in the country.
The arrested individuals are aged 41 and 53.
The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations into the matter.
