'Ramayan Trail' launched in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st); Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, the Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetrra Trust was part of the launch of the 'Ramayan Trail – The Sacred Mission' project in Colombo yesterday, unveiling a new chapter in Sri Lanka's spiritual and cultural journey.

The event took place in the presence of President’s Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake, former Member of European Parliament and President’s Special Envoy Neranjan Deva Aditya, former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, and Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha.

The 'Shree Ramayan Trails' aims to transform nine key sites across Sri Lanka into world-class monuments, epitomizing the spiritual and historical essence of the epic Ramayana.

These locations, including Adam’s Bridge in Mannar Basin, Ashoka Vatika in Sita Elya, Welimada Divurumpola, Ussangoda National Park, Rumassala in Galle, Koneswaram in Trincomalee, Manawari Temple in Chilaw, Ravana Cave in Ella, and the Kataragama Ramayana Trail, will serve as a platform for sacred pilgrimage.

The project is slated with an initial investment of US$ 50 million.

Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj said Sri Lanka transcends mere geographical boundaries; it is a sacred pilgrimage site that resonates deeply with spiritual seekers across cultures.
