Damitha, Husband Returned To Remand

COLOMBO (News 1st); Activist and actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband have been further remanded until the 24th of April.

The decision was made after they were produced to the fort maisgtrate court today.

Damitha Abeyratne, an activist and actress, along with her husband, were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department and the couple faces charges related to a substantial fraud amounting to nearly Rs 3 million.

Allegedly, they falsely promised employment opportunities in South Korea.
