Suspect in Homicide Case Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); The suspect wanted for the brutal murder of a woman, who was found lifeless inside a room in Seeduwa, was arrested.

The woman had succumbed to injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon.

The 22-year-old suspect, a resident of Madangwala in Balangoda, was taken into custody by local police.

Following the commission of the crime, the suspect reportedly consumed an overdose of mediciation and was admitted to hospital.

Law enforcement authorities formally presented the suspect before the Balangoda court. Currently, the suspect remains under medical supervision at the Balangoda Base Hospital, with the supervision of prison officials.
