COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Health Minister, Keheliya Rambukwella, submitted a bail application to the Colombo High Court.
The application seeks his release from custody pending further legal proceedings.
Rambukwella’s application contends that the Maligakanda Magistrate has consistently denied his previous bail requests.
The application argues request that the rejection orders be set aside, allowing for Rambukwella’s release on bail, subject to any conditions.
The Colombo High Court is scheduled to review the bail plea on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Rambukwella currently remains in remand custody in connection with the ongoing investigation into the medicine procurement scandal.
