IMF Mission Holds Talks on Energy Sector Reforms

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Power and Energy, along with State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe met with the IMF Mission in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (12).

Peter Breuer, IMF Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka & other officials of the IMF held a discussion at the Ministry of Power & Energy to review the progress of CEB & CPC operations and commitments, said Minister Wijesekera on X.

Matters on recent tariff reduction in the electricity sector, CEB & CPC balance sheets of 2023, current financial position of CEB, accounting principals and standards adopted, BSTA filling automation, dispatch audit to be conducted, outstanding payments, forecast for 2024, CPC pricing formula & CPC operations was briefed and discussed, he noted.
