COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have achieved significant milestones through Operation "Yukthiya" said DIG Nihal Talduwa, the Police Spokesperson.
During the course of Operation "Yukthiya" law enforcement agencies successfully confiscated illicit drugs valued at over Rs. 8.5 Million.
A staggering 68,577 suspects have been apprehended as part of this operation.
The police have taken custody of assets totaling more than 725 million rupees, which were unlawfully acquired through criminal activities.
This includes properties, vehicles, and other ill-gotten gains.
DIG Talduwa announced that Operation "Yukthiya" has been further fortified, with officers now assigned to 45 divisions. Their role is to oversee and manage the ongoing operations, ensuring efficiency and coordination.
In a strategic move, the police are prepared to seek military assistance when necessary.
The Police Special Task Force remains actively engaged in supporting and executing operations related to Operation "Yukthiya."
