Yukthiya nets Over 770 Suspects in 24 Hours

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan authorities report that  779 suspects were arrested during Operation Yukthiya in the 24 hours ending at 12:30 am today.

Among those apprehended, 620 suspects were arrested for drug-related offenses.

The Ministry of Public Security highlights the arrest of 159  suspects identified for criminal activity.

Police operations resulted in the confiscation of a substantial amount of illegal drugs, including heroin, ice, cannabis and Mawa pills.

Notably, 18 suspects arrested for drug offenses were identified on lists maintained by the Police Narcotics Bureau and the Police Special Bureau.
