Proposal regarding TIN to Cabinet next week

COLOMBO (News 1st); State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the proposal regarding the issuance of the Tax Identification Number or TIN number for tax registration is due to be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers next week.

The State Minister said the Cabinet paper will be prepared proposing to use the National Identity Card number as the TIN number when issuing NICs for persons above 18 years of age.

State Minister Siyambalapitiya said the relevant proposal is being prepared, and recommendations were called from six institutions in this regard.

He added that four institutions have submitted recommendations thus far.
