COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued a warning regarding deteriorating air quality in several areas, particularly highlighting high levels of dust particles in Badulla district.

The organization's concerns focus on potential health risks, especially for vulnerable populations like children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory issues.

ELM Udaya Kumara, Deputy Director of Badulla District Disaster Management urged individuals in these categories to exercise caution and avoid extended exposure to outdoor environments.

The NBRO attributes this decline in air quality to external pollutants carried by wind currents.

As a precautionary measure, they recommend:

- Wearing face masks, especially when spending time outdoors.

- Limiting time spent in open environments for those with respiratory problems.
