One Dead in a shooting in Negombo

Colombo (News 1st) - An individual has died in a shooting at Galkanda Junction in Negambo

Police said a person was injured in the shooting and he later succumed to his injuries. 

police said that two people on a motorcycle opened fire with a pistol.

Meanwhile, a person was injured in a shooting that took place in the Sembukuliya area of Maha Kumbu-kkada, Puttalam.

The police said that the shooting was due to a land dispute. 

After being admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital, the injured person was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital.

Police said that investigations revealed that the weapon used in the shooting was a locally made firearm.
