Brain drain of Medical Professionals severely affects Health Sector

Colombo (News 1st) - In the last two years, more than 1700 doctors, specialists, and medical professionals have left the Island. 

Media spokesperson of the Government Medical Officers' Association Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe said this is due to the prevailing crisis and continuous economic battles faced by the people of the Country. 

He also said that this situation has affected the activities of large and small scale hospitals across the Island.
