BREAKING : Keheliya sends resignation letter to President

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Environment Minister, and Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella had sent his letter of resignation to the President.

The President's Office said that the letter of resignation was accepted by the President, and that it was directed for publication via government gazette.

Keheliya Rambukwella, was arrested last week by the CID over his involvement in the controversial human immunoglobulin procurement scandal, and was subsequently remanded to the 15th of February 2024.

Thereafter, he was moved to the prison hospital due to an illness.
