COLOMBO (News 1st); A Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) Mi-17 helicopter carrying personnel on a peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (CAR) was involved in an accident earlier today.
The SLAF confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:30 am local time, and that no military personnel aboard the aircraft were injured.
According to the Air Force, the incident is believed to have been caused by adverse weather conditions in the area.
A full investigation has been launched under the direction of the Air Force Commander to determine the precise cause and extent of the damage.
