COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lanka Test Cricketer Sachithra Senanayake was remanded to the 15th of September by a Colombo Court.
The former off spinner was arrested after he appeared via an attorney-at-law for an investigation carried out by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Sports Ministry.
He was arrested for proposing and influencing two other players to fix matches.
The cricketer is reported to have approached two cricketers participating in the first edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in 2020, allegedly to entice them to fix matches.
