COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lankan Minister and SLPP lawmaker Namal Rajapaksa said there was no need for the Rajapaksa's to seek third party assistance, or secure an election win by deviating from their policies.

Responding to the allegations raised by UK's Channel4, MP Namal Rajapaksa said that Channel 4 has a serious issue with the Rajapaksa family.

"There was an anti-corruption unit during the government of good governnace, and most of the time, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, myself, our family members, and all those who supported our government, were at the FCID. Therefore, I cannot imagine how Gotabaya Rajapaksa, or the Rajapaksa's had the time to trace an intelligence chief and plan the Easter Sunday attacks," he said.

"One of the suicide bombers was seen on the election stage with former President Maithripala Sirisena, to bring the government of good governance to power. Another was in the National List Parliamentary Candidate of Anura Kumara Dissanayake's faction," he said in Parliament on Wednesday (6).

The MP said that Channel 4 has a serious issue with the Rajapaksa family and anyone with the surname Rajapaksa.

"Ever since, the war ended in 2009, Channel 4 produced documentaries against the Rajapaksa's. I do not even consider them a media outlet. I assume it is a video production outlet. Channel 4 is once again working to settle their score with us for concluding the war in 2009. Or they are working to realize someone's political aspirations," he said.
