President to make special statement in Parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to make a special statement in Parliament on Wednesday (09) morning.

The debate on the second reading of the Appropriation Bill with amendments will be held in Parliament on Wednesday (09).

It has been proposed to increase the borrowing limit from Rs.4.979 trillion to Rs.13.979 trillion.

Accordingly, the borrowing limit will increase by around Rs.9 billion.

The second reading of the Betting and Gaming Levy (Amendment) Bill will also take place on Wednesday (09).

Orders under the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act are also scheduled to be debated on Wednesday (09).

The Inland Revenue (Amendment) Act will be considered thereafter.
