Rainy weather in SW Sri Lanka, dry in other parts, says Met Dept.

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology has forecasted upcoming rain in the south-western region of Sri Lanka for the next few days.

According to the weather predictions, heavy showers about 75mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Eastern and Uva province and in Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.

Meanwhile, the ongoing dry weather continues to impact communities across 18 districts. 

The Disaster Management Center reports that approximately 291,804 persons from 84,681 families have been affected by the prevailing arid weather conditions.
