Railway Electrical Technicians strike called off

COLOMBO (News 1st); The strike launched by the Railway Electrical Technicians has been called off, following the discussion held with railway authorities on Friday (25).
Recently, a brawl had broken out between a Railway Electrical Technician and a Deputy Railway Controller at the Maligawatte train yard.
The Railway Electrical Technician involved in the brawl was later arrested and remanded, and the strike was launched in opposition to the incident.
Several trains plying from Colombo Fort were delayed on Wednesday (23) and Thursday (24) evening, due to the strike.
Passengers were severely inconvenienced as a result.
