Indian Defence Minister to visit Sri Lanka in September

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Defence of India Rajnath Singh is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the 2nd and 3rd of September.

Several media reports emerged on Friday (25) regarding the Indian Defence Minister's visit to Sri Lanka.

According to the media reports Indian Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh is due to hold discussions with the Sri Lankan President and his Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayaka.

The reports stated that the Indian Defence Minister will also visit Trincomalee, where he will inspect the fuel pipeline system to be built between the two countries.

During President Ranil Wickremesinghe's recent visit to India, proposals were presented regarding a fuel pipeline system and a bridge connecting the two countries.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the two countries, related to the Trincomalee district development plan.
