Norochcholai Generator 2 to be restored

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Generator Two at the Norochcholai Power Plant, which was shut down, will be reconnected to the national grid at 8 PM on Tuesday (15).
The generator will be restored after maintenance work.
The generator was shut down due to an issue, the Ceylon Electricity Board said on August 8.
The national grid lost 270 MW of power as a result of the shutdown, the CEB added.
Unit 3 at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant was also shut down for a period of 100 days from June 13, for a scheduled major overhaul maintenance work.
