Recording Bread price and weight made mandatory

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Trade Minister Nalin Fernando announced that it has been made compulsory to record the price and weight of a loaf of bread. This decision came into effect following the repeal of the Bread Ordinance Act.

Under this new regulation, the Department of Measurement Units, Standards & Services, along with the Consumer Affairs Authority, has been granted the authority to conduct raids to ensure that bread is sold at the required weight.
