PICTURES: National Vehicle Parade features locally assembled vehicles

COLOMBO (News 1st); Over 150 locally assembled vehicles parades the streets of Colombo under the banner 'National Vehicle Parade' inline with the Industry 2023 - National Industry Exhibition. 

The event was organized by the Ministry of Industries and the Industrial Development Board.

The parade was flagged off from Galle Face Green, and proceeded to Fort, Maradana, Borella, and reached the BMICH where the Industry 2023 Exhibition was taking place.

According to the Department of Government Information until 2021 there were only four entities that assembled vehicles locally, however, following the introduction of a new program that number spiked to 26.
